As the actor-producer Akshay Kumar is busy with the promotions of his upcoming sports drama Gold, he recently said that he is willing to make a biopic on the life of Hima Das, the Indian sprinter who won gold in a track event at just 18 years of age. He recently said this in an event when he was asked that on which Indian sports personality he would like to make a biopic. Adding to this he said that, “I think it was a very rare feat to achieve because somebody who comes from the interiors of India and wins a gold medal in track (running) event was really incredible.”
He also said that “India has been a little bit weak when it comes to performing in track events and I feel we should encourage and support that form of sports to show the world that we have great talent when it comes to running. He is also waiting to see response of the audience on his upcoming release Gold that also features Amit Sadh, Kunal Kapoor, Sunny Kaushal, Vineet Kumar Singh and Mouni Roy in lead roles. Directed by Reema Kagti and produced by Excel Entertainment, the movie is scheduled to release on August 15.
