Bollywood has come forward for helping the needy in these difficult times. Earlier Sonu Sood arranged buses for migrant workers. Now megastar Amitabh Bachchan who earlier arranged buses to help migrant workers stuck in Maharashtra, reach their hometowns, and now he has set up flights for migrants. According to sources, 2 charter flights are there for Gorakhpur, Allahabad and Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh.
Each flight will carry 180 migrants and leave the city on June 10 and 11. Through this initiative, Big B has extended help to 500+ migrant workers. “Bachchan Sir asked me to arrange chartered flights for the migrants as he was keen for them and wanted them not to lose hope after being told they would be sent home,” Rajesh Yadav, managing director of AB Corp Ltd added. The migrants were supposed to travel by train but due to some technical issues, it could not be arranged so Big B decided to fly them home.
Amitabh Bachchan’s team has also distributed ration packets to the needy and donated masks, PPE kits, and sanitizers to hospitals and police stations in Mumbai.
