Taapsee Pannu and Anurag Kashyap are into trouble after the income tax dept raided their residence under the Phantom Films Tax evasion probe. The Union Ministry of Finance accused the actor-director duo of tax fraud. The CEO of Reliance Entertainment Group, Shibashish Sarkar, is also charged in the tax fraud case. The raid was conducted at their properties, and the agency found out:
The Phantom Films has been dissolved, income discrepancies of worth Rs. 650 crores have been found by the agency. The searches began last Wednesday that covered 28 resident premises and offices of the production houses in Mumbai, Pune, Hyderabad and Delhi. According to the statement given, the recently dissolved production house has not explained Rs’ 300 crores discrepancies.
Cash receipts amounts Rs 5 crores have been procured as a piece of evidence on Taapsee Pannu. As per the Finance Ministry’s statement, tax implication of Rs 20 crores have been found as a non-genuine expenditure.
Questioning and search will continue till the I-T dept gets satisfactory answers.
