As per the report, Ishaan Khatter and Ananya Panday’s OTT release Khaali Peeli would also be hitting theatres. According to the news, Khaali Peeli released online on Oct 2 and will be the first Bollywood film to have a nationwide theatrical release since March. Presently news covered that national chains won’t be releasing the movie on a large scale as expected before, reportedly, for a reason! And as per the report, the chains wouldn’t want OTT-theatrical simultaneous release of movies to be set!
Maqbool Khan said on the changes of plan in the Bombay Times interview. Director Maqbool said, “I did my job of making entertaining and a messy film. It was planned to release in theatres, but unfortunately, we cannot cause covid-19. So, the film released on OTT. I am happy, the producers are proud of the way the film was received by the audience. Now, if the film is releasing in theatres then it’s excellent news for me and therefore the team. So we will be happier if people watch the film legally with the guidelines set by the government.”
Maqbool Sharing his piece of mind and said, “Such discussions will keep happening. Pandemic ne sabko upar neeche kar diya hai. So, these are all temporary arrangements. And all these discussions will come to an end when the pandemic settles down. Film releases are going to be back to normal, with new theatrical projects hitting the big screens first.”
