Come and Get Your Midi tracks
MIDI (Musical Instrument Digital Interface) is a protocol developed in the 1980’s which allows electronic instruments and other digital musical tools to communicate with each other. Its a file with .MID or .MIDI file extension (pronounced as “mid-ee”).
Unlike regular audio files like MP3 or WAV files, MIDI files don’t contain actual audio data. They are basically instructional files (series of messages like “note on,” “note off,” “note/pitch,” “pitchbend,” and many more) that explain how the sound should be produced once attached to a playback device or loaded into a particular software program that knows how to interpret the data.
