Nawazuddin Siddiqui has successfully established himself as one of the ‘most versatile’ actors in the current generation with his movie choices and performances. He has built a niche for himself after a long struggle for more than 2 decades.
The Gangs of Wasseyppur actor recently spoke about the nepotism and how formula films don’t require talented actors. In a video interview with leading news daily, Nawazuddin quoted that many of the successful filmmakers don’t work according to a set formula.
He further added, if you are having the ambition of becoming an actor or actress, in movies with five dance numbers, then that is what you deserve as there is a long queue of actors looking to do those films. Elaborating more, he further stated that one should also know where one’s talent will be used.
He also revealed a piece of advice given to him by director Anurag Kashyap. Siddiqui said that the ace movie director told him to concentrate on selecting the scripts from directors willing to offer him the roles according to his personality as my talent cannot be utilized fully in commercial cinema. The phenomenal actor concluded that Kashyap didn’t agree on talented actors working in formula films.
Nawazuddin went on to say that it is fine if an aspirant has a lot of money to invest in their grooming, dance, etc but it has nothing to do with acting. According to him, if you come with knowledge of your craft, there is no point in pursuing formula films.
