After numerous delays, director Ayan Mukerji has locked December 4, 2020 for releasing his highly anticipated sci-fi flick ‘Brahmastra’, starring Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, and Amitabh Bachchan in pivotal roles.
Originally scheduled to release in the summer of 2020, got delayed as the team didn’t want to leave any inadequacy with graphics and visual effects work to compete with the on-going international standards. The movie is the first part of an epic trilogy.
Moreover, the current COVID-19 pandemic and remaining work have brought a grinding halt, it would be interesting to see if Ayan and his team can cope up with their date and audiences this December. While fans are eagerly waiting for any update about the movie, rumors state that Ranbir Kapoor’s other movie will be gearing up for getting released worldwide after the situation gets normal again.
‘Shamsheera’ will be Ranbir’s first official release post lockdown as it’s been on the verge of completing its post-production stage and the production team is striving round the clock from their homes to get it ready before the deadlines. The shoot got completed early this year, while ‘Brahmastra’ has a portion still left to shot, besides their heavy VFX work.
Due to lockdown, several film releases were postponed indefinitely. In order to avoid box-office clashes, reports say that after the lockdown, filmmakers will host a meeting for discussing the best alternatives to get their film released. Meanwhile, some others have opted to take the digital route and release their films on OTT platforms for fans to enjoy amidst the lockdown, instead of waiting for normalcy to return and for theatres to open.
