Veteran choreographer Saroj Khan (71) passed away due to cardiac arrest in Mumbai. She was hospitalized after having difficulty in breathing. Renowned as Masterji, Saroj was a leading dance director in the 90’s choreographing popular dance numbers like ‘Dhak Dhak’, ‘Ek Do Teen’, ‘Tabah Ho Gaye’, ‘Dola Re Dola’, ‘Dhoom Tana’ and many more. Her last choreography was for Madhuri Dixit’s dance piece in the movie ‘Kalank’ (2009). She breathed her last at 1.52 AM on July 3. She begins her career as an assistant choreographer and established herself as an independent choreographer.
B-town celebs including Amitabh Bachchan, Akshay Kumar, Madhuri Dixit, Farah Khan, Remo D’ Souza, Sonu Sood, Jacqueline Fernandes, Rakul Preet Singh, Nimrat Kaur, Riteish Deshmukh and others mourned the loss of Saroj Khan on social media. Netizens have also taken to Twitter to mourn the choreographer’s demise.
