Sushant Singh Rajput’s case is undergoing investigation by Bihar police after the late actor’s father filed an FIR against Rhea Chakraborty in Patna. As a team from Patna started their investigation in Mumbai, the BMC quarantined Patna SP Vinay Tiwari till August 15. Reacting to the same, Bihar DGP G Pandey questioned what the Mumbai police has been doing since 50 days of the actor’s death. A leading news portal tweeted, “An IPS officer is forcibly quarantined. If Maharashtra govt is proud of their police, then tell us what they’ve done in 50 days after the death of Sushant S Rajput. Mumbai has closed all communication channels with us. This indicates that something is wrong: Bihar DGP G. Pandey”.

Requesting that Patna SP Vinay Tiwari be exempted, Patna IG Sanjay Kumar has written to the BMC commissioner Iqbal Chahal. According to Times Now, Patna IG Sanjay Kumar has also cited the SOP that states officers on duty cannot be stopped, based on the guidelines provided by the union home ministry.
Earlier reports also suggested that Rhea Chakraborty had gone missing after the FIR was filed in Patna. However her lawyer Satish Maneshinde had clarified in a statement, “Rhea Chakraborty has always been living in Mumbai. She was in Mumbai on 14th June 2020. She was not allowed to attend the Funeral of Sushant Singh as her name was stuck off from the list of 20.”
